Wretched Doll Heart

A body of porcelain is easy to break, and almost impossible to repair, but tie a little ribbon around the cracks and make it all better. Hide the missing pieces behind a pretty bow... 

Wretched Doll Heart is a solo journaling game based on the Wretched & Along system. Explore an ever changing labyrinth in search for the one thing that might make your fragile doll body human. Reconnect with the memories of the person who’s soul was taken to animate the doll. And maybe, just maybe, don’t die alone and forgotten, a broken mess of porcelain and pretty ribbons.

PLAY TEST VERSION V4

This game is not finished.  That is to say, all its parts exist but it has not been thoroughly tested or polished.  There will be typos and proof-reading errors. Primarily, we are still tuning the difficulty.

Unlike typical Wretched & Along games, this one does not use a block tower. Instead, the player will start with a length of ribbon and slowly cut pieces off - representing the doll trying to repair herself.

Besides a length of ribbon, you will need:

•  a small ruler
• scissors
• a d4 & d6
• and your chosen method of journaling. 

If you don't want to engage with the ribbon cutting mechanic or don't have access to ribbon, or don't have the manual dexterity to operate scissors, or whatever other reason: We have included a page with a ribbon on it, marked at inch increments that can be printed and ripped or scribbled out or move a monopoly piece down it like a board game, or digitally write on it on a table, or, or, or. 

Forty-eight inches of ribbon, with 1d4 inches cut off each time seems to approximate the same math as the block tower.
